Infant room graduation

Mason is a wobbler! Well, he's not really crawling OR wobbling on his own yet, but he officially graduated from the infant room to the 'wobblers' class at school. He has been visiting for several weeks and this is his first full week in the class. We are thrilled because the class takes a scheduled nap every day, which is already working better for Mason. He did NOT nap well in the infant room - I guess there was too much excitement. So far, he's napping at least TWO HOURS A DAY (thank you Lord!), which makes all the difference in his evening mood. And even though he is not crawling (he is SO close), he is fairly mobile and may earn the nickname of 'Scooter'. It's very entertaining to watch him scoot around on his bottom and he can usually get where he wants to go.

Here are his school pictures that were taken a few weeks ago. I can't believe how grown up he looks!
Love that huge smile! Apparently Miss Ariel had to tickle him to get some smiles.

Weekend with Mimi

Chris and I are so grateful to my parents for keeping Mason all weekend. It was our first full weekend away from him and, although we missed our little guy, we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing weekend with friends at the lake. The weather was perfect and we all had fun, despite a little sunburn. Mason was pretty good for his Mimi, but he was a little fussy and running a low fever - we suspect due to teething (he now has 2 top teeth - see picture below). And even though Mimi loved having Mason 'all to herself', she admitted that he kept her on her toes! I hope she rests up this week because she is keeping him for us again next weekend. We didn't get any pictures this weekend, but here are few from the past week.

Here is Mason hanging out with his favorite furry friend. He is actually OBSESSED with the cat these days, but I can't ever get Beau to stay with Mason long enough for a picture.
That tickles!!
And showing off all of his teeth. Hopefully we'll get a little break from teething soon!
We have a VERY busy month ahead. YAY for summertime!!!

Baby Treadmill

Mason has finally figured out how to do laps around his exer-saucer and he thinks it is the most fun ever! Here is a cute video of him 'exercising'.

First 'Real' Mother's Day

First of all, we want to wish a VERY Happy Mother's Day to both of the special moms in our life. Mom, you made it look so easy growing up and now I know that it isn't always easy! I guess all that practice paid off because y'all are the best Nana and Mimi to Mason! We love you both very much!!

Even though today is my first 'official' Mother's Day, last year was my first real test as a mother when my water broke 3 months early ON Mother's Day. That's something I'll never forget... That day began the longest and most stressful 3 months of my life. But what a difference a year makes. I am so blessed and absolutely love every second of being a mom (even those first few rough months). Unfortunately, my sweet boy is sick this weekend, so I am having yet another test of motherhood on my special holiday. Maybe next year I'll get to relax and enjoy it.

Here are both of my 'babies' on Mother's Day. Yes, we still consider Shadow one of our children
My poor baby boy has been fighting a nasty virus all weekend. His fever (and his mood) keeps going up and down. We spent a lot of time napping in the swing.
He was finally feeling better by Sunday afternoon, so we took a nice family stroll to the park for a picnic. What a gorgeous day!
I have no idea what he is doing to daddy, but he thought it was pretty funny.
And a close-up of my sweet 11 month old (already?)
Happy Mother's Day to all my mommy friends! And especially those trying to become mommies because I know that can be the hardest job in the world, but it's all worth it!

Shopping is exhausting!

I snapped this with my phone the other day while we were out running errands. Mason loves riding in the shopping cart, but I guess I wore him out on this particular trip to Homegoods! It probably didn't help that he only had a 15 minute nap at daycare...
