Random Notes

It's been a while since my last post. Things are moving right along and we have a busy few months coming up, including our (probably) last ultrasound, baby shower, possible home improvements, getting the nursery ready, and all of the fun classes to (hopefully) prepare us for parenthood. In the meantime, I thought I'd share some common questions I'm asked and a fun tidbit:
  • How're you feeling? Definitely the most common question I'm asked and the truth is I feel great!! I'm sure this will change soon as the summer heat, backaches and swelling hit me in the third trimester, but for now, I am taking advantage of it. I feel very blessed to have had an easy pregnancy so far and I hope it continues. Aside from some food aversions the first few months and just being a little more tired than normal, I've really enjoyed being pregnant and have no complaints at all! Oh, except for having to pee every 15 minutes. That's getting annoying...
  • Have you had any food cravings? Not really... I'm not sure if it counts as a 'craving' if it is something I enjoyed before I was pregnant. I guess I probably indulge a little more easily than I did before on the things I really like. I definitely have been eating a lot of pasta, bread, and carbs in general. And ice cream! And I am thirsty ALL THE TIME, so I've been drinking a ton of flavored waters (vitamin water, life water, etc). I'm so thirsty that plain water doesn't seem to help, although I'm definitely getting enough of that too.
  • Do you have a name picked out? Maybe... but we're sticking to our plan and keeping it to ourselves until his birthday. We have a front runner on the first name and I think the middle name is set.
  • Do you feel the baby move? All the time! We definitely have a little soccer player in there. Sometimes I think he's trying to escape. And I wonder how he doesn't do damage to my major organs with all that thrashing around in there.
  • Have you registered yet? Yes... wow, what an adventure. Who knew one little baby could need so much stuff?! Thanks to my mommy friends for helping a clueless mom-to-be.
  • And funny things that husbands say... From Chris a few weeks ago when I was just over 6 months pregnant: "Wow - I don't see how your belly could get ANY bigger!". Trust me honey, it will. We have 3 more months to go!

  1. I LOVED carbs when I was preggers too (and still do). Kris said that our baby would come out looking like a piece of pizza or macaroni if I didn't watch it. I was also thirsty all the time, and only ice water would savor my craving. Yeah, tell your Chris that they belly will get bigger and he better love every inch of it!
