First trip to the farm!

We left Saturday morning on our first major road trip with Mason. We started in Cochran for Mason's very first trip to the farm! He had a blast exploring and playing with all of his toys (I think he has more here than at home). My boy loves being outdoors, so I have a feeling we will be visiting Mimi, Dee and Lamar A LOT when he gets a little older. We actually spent a lot of time outside riding in the golf cart and visiting the horses, but I guess we were having so much fun that we forgot to take many pictures outside. So far, it does not appear that Mason has inherited my love (obsession) of horses, but we'll see if that changes as he gets older.

Mimi got Mason this little car walker and he LOVES it. He turns the steering wheel and acts like he's really driving. He could even move it around on the kitchen floor.

Here he is driving his 'car' with his sunglasses on.
Mason loves hanging out with his Grandpa Dee.
And his favorite Uncle Lamar. Maybe next time we visit he'll take Mason on the four wheeler or fishing in the pond.
We rode in Dee's 'Beast' (off-roading style golf cart).

And just for fun, I took my old Camaro out for a spin. This was my first car when I turned 16 and my parents still have it.

We had so much fun at the farm and I just wish we could have stayed longer! Tomorrow, we head for Spring Hill, Florida to visit Chris' parents for the week. This is a MUCH longer drive, so I hope Mason will do as well in the car as he did on Saturday.

A few videos

I've been trying to use our Flip camera more often, but it is not easy to post them on the blog. Here are a few from the other day.

Here is daddy and Mason playing ball. He gets really excited and starts clapping towards the end.

Mama!!

I'm very happy to report that Mason is finally saying 'Mama'! Actually, it's more like 'mamamamama' and I'm not quite sure if he knows it's me, but I'll take it :-). He did cry it a few times when he was hungry or upset, so who knows?

Here are a few cute pictures from our lazy Sunday afternoon. His Mimi has bought him several adorable 'romper' outfits, but it is just now getting warm enough to wear them. He does look pretty darn cute in his little train outfit.

Love those eyes!

Mommy's Lucky Charm

Happy St. Patrick's Day! My little redhead celebrated the day at school with his friends. The teacher's took pictures of the babies in big green hats, but I haven't seen them yet. This week, Mason learned to clap! He's not the most coordinated, but he definitely mocks us when we clap at him and he gets so excited. We took a few videos I'll try to post this weekend. We're looking forward to a very nice, low key weekend at home. The weather is supposed to be beautiful, so I'm sure we'll make a few trips to the park. We really hope that spring is here to stay!!

This is the face he makes when he does his 'happy dance'.

My little cutie-pie before church last weekend.
And playing with his FAVORITE toy. Someone has to stay close by to roll it back to him or he gets really upset. If only we could teach Shadow how to do this (I mean, she IS a retriever!!).

Splish Splash!

I just wanted to share a few cute pictures from bath time. Mason graduated to his ducky bath tub about a month ago. It even quacks! He loves kicking and splashing everywhere! So much fun!! And I even managed to keep the photos 'clean'.

9 months!

Mason is officially 9 months old today! The time has flown by and I can't believe how much he has grown and developed. We will be planning his first birthday before you know it!

9 month stats:
  • Weight - 18lbs, 8oz (25th%); Height - 26.75" (10th%); Head - I think she wrote down the wrong measurement, but it was 25th%; Still a little on the smaller end, but catching up nicely.
  • Eating 3 'solid' meals a day plus 4 (6oz) bottles of formula.
  • Still my good sleeper with about 12 hours most nights (7ish to 7ish). We've had a few sleeping issues recently with random wakings at night and very early in the morning. We keep blaming it on teething, but we have yet to see a tooth...
  • He's saying syllables that kind of sound like words. Da-da-da-da-da-da is his favorite. Nothing that even remotely sounds like 'mama'
  • He sits up very well. He's completely stable and we can leave him playing on the floor by himself for a while. He also likes to stand with support on his tippy-toes.
  • When he gets really excited, he does this little 'happy dance'. He wiggles his whole body from side to side. It is so cute!
Likes:
  • Eating. Still eats pretty much anything. He started spitting at me when he eats, which he thinks is hilarious. I spent the past week giving him a stern 'No' and walking away from the table and he seems to have learned it is not acceptable. He's still testing me though.
  • Loves being outside - stroller rides, the baby swing at the park and anything outdoors.
  • His current favorite toys are his $.99 plastic ball and a stuffed pair of fuzzy dice that daddy got somewhere.
  • Loves his exer-saucer - especially the little piano toy on it.
  • Enjoys bath time and has started kicking and splashing everywhere. We graduated to his inflatable ducky tub (a gift from Ken & Misty :-).
Dislikes:
  • Naps. We have still made little progress. The kid just refuses to nap.
  • Tummy time. He may never crawl - he throws a fit the second you roll him over.
That's really about it... he's a very happy baby and is a joy most of the time (except around 5pm after a day with no naps). Here's a few pictures from the past few weeks.

Mason got his 'big boy' carseat last weekend. He seems to like it so far!
He likes his riding toys, but needs help balancing.
Enjoying a beautiful day at the park (with his dice of course)
Favorite toy #1. Cheap plastic ball
Favorite toy #2. Cheesy fuzzy dice.

Valentine's Day and Fun at the Park

Is he the cutest little Valentine or what? His shirt says 'Hello Ladies'. Mason's class had a very nice Valentine's day luncheon for the parents. Many of the babies in his class graduated to the 'Wobbler's' class last month, so it was nice to meet some of the new babies and parents. Mason is now one of the oldest in the infant class and will probably move to the 'Wobbler's' class in a few months (hard to believe already!).

Now that the weather is finally getting a little warmer, we're trying to spend more time outdoors. We're very lucky that there is a nice park within walking distance of our house. Mason loves being outdoors and we recently let him try out the baby swing. He had a blast! I foresee many trips to the park this spring and summer. We're having so much fun little our little man!

Loving the swing!
Daddy even came to the park with us to play.
Swing me again Daddy!!
