Buddies

Mason has always been very particular about his bedtime routine. Recently, he has started choosing a toy to take to bed with him every night and Buzz Lightyear has been the #1 pick for a while now. However, Buzz had an unfortunate accident last night which resulted in him losing a foot. Mason was terribly upset and now Woody is in the top spot since Buzz is 'broken'. I was afraid he would wake up overnight and worry because he couldn't find Buzz, so I snuck him in Mason's crib after bedtime last night.Unfortunately, it was the opposite and he woke up upset because 'broken' Buzz was in his crib. Poor Buzz.

9 Months!

My sweet baby Matthew is 9 months old! Everyone warned me that the second baby grows up so fast. He is hitting every milestone early and doing something new almost every day. It makes me both proud and sad at the same time. I remember this stage with Mason being my favorite and it still is. It is such a joy to watch him explore the world around him and learn new things. He is truly the happiest baby and it takes so little to make him smile. He is quite a charmer and gets attention everywhere we go (I think it's the red hair and dimples). And BOY does he love the attention. I'm sure he's going to get away with A LOT when he's older...

A few 9 month facts:

• 20 lbs, 9 oz (50-75%) and 29 inches (75%). Still a chunk, but slowing down.
• He is into EVERYTHING. He can crawl as fast as lightening and I can't take my eyes off of him for a second.
• He's also pulling up and cruising on anything and everything. Particularly things that can't hold his weight and he pulls over on himself.
• He's obsessed with cords and straps of any kind. Or anything I don't want him to get into.
• He's 'talking' up a storm. Lots of 'dadadada' and 'babababa' and other 'words' we don't yet understand. Our favorite is a little 'eh-eh-eh-eh-eh' that kind of sounds like a dolphin (remember Flipper?).
• He ADORES his big brother, even when big brother isn't very nice to him.
• He is one tough little dude (I guess you have to be with a big brother?). Even when he hurts himself, he'll only cry for a second.
• Sleeping 11 hours at night. Unless he's sick, which has been often lately. Even when he wakes up, he goes back to sleep very easily.
• Eating 5 bottles of formula and 3 meals of baby food plus a snack every day.
• No teeth yet - we've been on the lookout for months with so much drooling!

We love you so much sweet boy, but I wish you would slow down!!
